The $10 Billion California Homeless SCAM: What We Found Will Shock You

Hello 51-49ers!

I just released a new mini-documentary, and if you are serious about uncovering fraud – this is one of monumental proportions.

I’ve spent the last few weeks digging into the situation at the West Los Angeles VA. If you aren't familiar with it, here is the short version:

There are 388 acres of prime real estate in Brentwood that were legally deeded to disabled veterans in 1888. It belongs to them. But today, if a homeless veteran tries to sleep there, they get arrested for trespassing.

So, who is actually using the land? To name a few:

  • UCLA is using it for a baseball stadium.
  • The Brentwood School (an elite private academy) is using it for tennis courts and a swimming pool.
  • A corporate energy firm is using it to drill for oil.

Meanwhile, thousands of veterans are sleeping in tents just inches outside the fence.

Full investigation here:

A quick note on how this gets made: Investigative reporting like this—digging through court records, going on location, and editing deep dives—is completely listener-funded. We don't have corporate backers telling us what we can and can't say.
